The annual national clinical emergency medicine compensation and benefits report has been divided into five regional reports. The Northeast report contains data from Connecticut, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont. A total of 244 physicians from the Northeast participated in the 2010 survey. This 23-page regional report is detailed in four sections:

Section One: Overall base and total compensation for staff physicians and department directors (reported by employment status -- partner, employee, and independent contractor). All base and total compensation is reported at the 50th percentile.
Section Two: Individual physician information (including training, board certification, years in practice, annual hours worked).
Section Three: Hospital and emergency department information (including location, beds, trauma designation, annual ED volume).
Section Four: Detailed salary and benefit information (including moonlighting, malpractice insurance, PTO time, CME, co-payments).
